“This is very unfair!” Una Healy sets high standards for new ‘Middle-aged Love Island’ show

Una Healy has hit back at the application requirements for the new “middle-aged Love Island” show, calling it “very unfair.”

The new ITV reality program The Romance Retreat, hosted by Davina McCall, sees single parents, nominated by their children, looking for love in a luxury retreat.

But the 41-year-old singer of The Saturday – who recently made headlines amid her ‘throuple’ drama – has called out the show for only allowing people with children to apply, before declaring she won’t be applying herself .

Una shared a screenshot of an article about the upcoming show, writing over it, “So a middle-aged person with no kids can’t sign on?” This is very unfair in my opinion… anyway… I’m not going to apply.’

She also researched the show being touted as a show for “middle-aged people,” sharing a question box asking, “What is even “middle-aged” X answer below.”

Davina confirmed the news of the show and her role on Thursday, stating that she “manifested it.”

She confirmed that the show was indeed looking for single parents and captioned a video where she wrote, “Omg.. I manifested and it came true!! I will be hosting a brand new adult dating series for ITV1!!

This is a show for single parents who have lived a life, have stories to tell about their dating past and deserve another chance at love and I’m going to help you. It will all take place in the most romantic location in the countryside!!

“We are still casting so if you want my help in finding love and you have a child who is over 18, what are you waiting for??? (especially you eligible men.. where are you?!’

Meanwhile, Una’s words come shortly after the mother-of-two declared herself ‘single’ after reportedly ending her ‘throuple’ with boxer David Haye and his girlfriend Sian Osborne.

It comes after Una holidayed in Marrakech in January with former heavyweight boxer David, 42, and his model girlfriend Sian, 35, in January.

It is clear that David and Sian, who he started dating in 2020, propelled Una into a three way romance before Una would have ended the ‘throuple’.

Now Una has confirmed she is single and focused on raising her two children Aoife, ten, and Tadhg, eight, who she shares with ex-husband Ben Foden.

She said The Irish Mirror: “I am single and raising my two children, just like many other single parents – both men and women – who are doing a great job.

“I’m a single parent, I don’t like the term single mom because it has negative connotations.

“You can’t do it all alone, there’s no shame in asking for help, whether it’s from childcare, family or friends.”

Una went on to say that she is often asked how she juggles as a single parent, but pointed out that men are rarely asked how they do the same, saying mothers have no choice.

Meanwhile, David seemed to hint that he was looking for a replacement for Una in his couple when he shared a cryptic Instagram post earlier this month.

The boxer shared a photo of herself with girlfriend Sian and three other women partying at the SXM festival in Saint Martin in the Caribbean.
