A senior army officer ‘pretended to be a police officer so he could stop and search young woman he had been spying on for three days’.

Lieutenant colonel Greg Blunden, 49, is said to have followed his young victim from her home before patting her down in a fake stop and search.

Police were called on Friday, August 18 to a report of a man acting suspiciously in Enmore Gardens, Richmond.

The married father-of-two is said to have fled the scene when the victim challenged him and raised her voice. An arrest was made two days later.

Blunden appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on August 21 charged with stalking, assault and impersonation of a police constable. He was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Kingston Crown Court on September 15.

Colleagues of the Sandhurst-trained commander are said to be in ‘shock’ over his arrest, according to The Sun

Prior to his arrest Blunden was working for the Ministry of Defence’s Strategic Command, which oversees Britain’s Special Forces, including the SAS and SBS.

Blunder, nicknamed ‘Bluffers’ by comrades, lives at MoD-owned family quarters in Uxbridge, West London.

One source told The Sun that he’s a ‘respected officer’ who is regarded as ‘trustworthy and reliable’.
