Scottie Pippen says Michael Jordan was a ‘HORRIBLE player’ before he arrived at the Bulls

Scottie Pippen has discredited Michael Jordan’s position in the NBA, labeling him a “horrible player” before the Jordan-Pippen era, which produced six championships for the Chicago Bulls franchise.

A clip of Pippen insulting his former friend and teammate went viral Friday when Basketball Hall of Famer Naismith Memorial spoke out about LeBron James.

The Lakers star has been a topic of conversation this week after he said, without being prompted, that he was considering retiring after being swept by Denver in the Western Conference Finals.

“LeBron is going to be the biggest stats guy to ever play the game of basketball,” Pippen said. ‘And there’s no comparison to him, none!’

However, Pippen stopped short of saying that James, 38, was the GOAT.

The once formidable couple have had their relationship strained by events over the years.

‘So does that make him the best player to ever play? I leave that up for debate.

“I don’t think there is a great player because our game is a team game and one player can’t do it.”

This led to Jordan’s name being mentioned. Both Pippen and Jordan were part of the most successful period in Bulls history, playing together from 1987-93 to 1995-98.

“I watched Michael Jordan play before I came to play for the Bulls,” Pippen added.

‘You saw him play, he was a horrible player. It was horrible to play with him, it was all one against one, he is taking bad shots. Suddenly, we became a team and started winning, everyone forgot who he was.

The couple won the NBA championship between 1991-1993 and 1996-1998 when the Bulls joined two famous three-time championships.

Jordan’s son, Marcus, is now dating Pippen’s ex-wife and Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa.

Pippen and his ex-wife married in 1997 before their divorce was finalized in December 2021.

It is not the first time that Pippen criticizes MJ. In his memories, UndefendedPippen said he was ‘just a prop’ at Jordan’s The last Dance docuseries. He added that the NBA legend “couldn’t have been more condescending if he’d tried.”

What makes the Jordan-Pippen feud even more intriguing is that MJ’s son Marcus has been dating Pippen’s ex-wife Larsa for some time.

Jordan Jr. has been dating the Real Housewives of Miami Star since the last months of 2022.

Larsa said in a recent interview with Tamron Hall that she had spent “a lot of time” with Jordan and Marcus’ mother, Juanita, who were “fine” with the romance.

Scottie and Larsa were married for 14 years before splitting in 2021.
