The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team visited the White House on Friday in recognition of their NCAA national championship victory against San Diego State in April.

After spending time with the LSU women’s basketball team, President Joe Biden closed out sports Friday by changing into a blue tie and welcoming the UConn men’s championship team for his own celebration.

“Congratulations to the entire nation of UConn,” Biden said.

The Huskies won their fifth national title by defeating San Diego State, 76-59, on April 3.

“This team is proof that you don’t quit at UConn, just like you don’t quit in America,” Biden added. ‘None.

UConn has attended the White House four other times; 1999, 2004, 2011 and 2014.

Hours before UConn’s arrival, LSU was inside the Oval Office despite Angel Reese’s initial disinterest in attending.

Reese and his teammates gifted Joe an LSU jersey, as did UConn.

The ceremony was halted for about 10 minutes after forward Sa’Myah Smith appeared to collapse as she and her teammates stood behind Biden.

A wheelchair was brought in, and trainer Kim Mulkey assured the audience that Smith was fine.
