A hard-working Aussie mom says she can finally quit her job after claiming $40 million in last night’s Powerball draw.
The winner, from Echuca, had the only first division winning entry in Powerball draw 1394 on Thursday, February 2, taking home the full $40 million jackpot.
The $40 million win is also the largest Division 1 prize won in an Australian lottery game in 2023.

The winning player confessed that she was completely shocked by her new multimillionaire status.
‘Oh my God! Oh my God! I can not believe it. I thought it was a scam!’ she exclaimed.

“I’m so nervous, I feel really weird. My whole body has gone numb!
My husband and I couldn’t sleep at all last night. We walked back and forth.
“I’m at work right now, so it took me a little longer to answer my phone.
“This is really going to take a while to sink in. It only feels real when the money is in my bank account.
“My husband and I set these goals and wondered how we were going to achieve them, but now we don’t have to worry!
“I can’t believe this is happening!”
She now plans to quit her job and spend more time with family after the huge win.
“My god, I can quit my job!” she cried happily.

The winning PowerHit entry was purchased online.
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1394 on Thursday, February 2, 2023 were 7, 35, 31, 2, 24, 21 and 15. The all-important Powerball number was 18.
