Patrick Mahomes has restructured his Kansas City Chiefs contract to ensure he earns a guaranteed $210.6million between 2023 and 2026, it has been reported.

The two-time Super Bowl champion is widely regarded as the best player in the NFL and his reworked contract reflects that, scooping him the most money in league history over a four-year period.

Adam Schefter of ESPN, who first reported the news, also revealed that Mahomes’ agent Chris Cabott will sit down with the Chiefs again after the 2026 season to further negotiate the player’s terms.

Mahomes is not the first quarterback to sign a big-money agreement in the NFL in recent weeks, after Joe Burrow extended with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Burrow’s agreement put Mahomes down to eighth in annual average salary among quarterbacks, but his new deal rises him back up to among the top stars in the NFL.

Mahomes was selected by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 Draft, and has since gone on to win a Super Bowl ring in 2020 and 2023.

In both games, he earned the Super Bowl MVP award, and he is a two-time league MVP too.

This season, the Chiefs stuttered in their opening game to fall to the Lions, but the Mahomes-led offense were back to winning ways on Sunday to beat the Jaguars 17-9.
