A teenager recalls his confrontational encounter with a burglar who broke into his house and entered his bedroom while he was sleeping stark naked.
Jack, 17, was sleeping in on Tuesday when he heard unexpected noises at his home in Allambie Heights on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
He eventually got up to investigate and disturbed the intruders by making eye contact with one of them while still undressed.
The teen assured 2GB breakfast host Ben Fordham that he was fully clothed during Friday’s radio interview.
“It’s been hot for the past week and I was trying to get relief from the heat, so I was naked!” Jack remembered.
Jack was startled and disturbed a burglar who broke into his house while he was sleeping naked
“I’m facing away from the door and I hear someone open the door and I’m still half asleep thinking ‘I hope that’s not my mom because I’m naked’.”
“He was a foot away from me, like I could feel him.
“I hear this man say some swear words that I will not say on the air, he tries to close the door quietly.”
Jack got out of bed and seconds later saw one of the burglars coming down the stairs outside his house.
“We make eye contact and that’s when I start to panic,” he said.
Jack called his mother to make sure she expected visitors before calling the police, who arrived within two minutes.
“I would have gone after them (the burglars) but I had to get dressed quickly and by then it was done,” he said.
