Video shows the moment a well-known social media influencer racially lashed out at an Asian driver after a minor fender bend in Los Angeles – before pushing him into oncoming traffic and allegedly attacking others on the spot.
Oceanside native Ashley Barkis, 25, has been identified as the person in the footage – and we’re seen hurling insults at the unnamed man and his family before attacking him, claiming they hit her car.
Specific details surrounding the accident and subsequent incident are still shrouded – police have yet to make a statement or make an arrest. The cliphowever, has gone viral – and even resulted in an apology from Barkis.
In the statement since deleted to a Instagram where she regularly posts fitness content, Barkis told her 3,600 followers that she wishes she had handled the situation differently, citing her half-Filipino and half-Hispanic heritage.
That said, in the clip pieced together by a TikTok user on Thursday, Barkis is seen berating and assaulting the driver — as well as other witnesses who appeared to be part of his group — before questioning his legal status as a citizen.

Oceanside native Ashley Barkis, 25, has been identified as the person in the clip — and he insults the unnamed man and his family before attacking him. Barkis, an influencer with thousands of followers, has since apologized in a since-deleted post on Instagram

In the since-deleted statement on an Instagram where she regularly posts fitness content, Barkis told her 3,600 followers that she wished she had handled the situation differently, citing her half-Filipino and half-Hispanic heritage.
‘Where’s your insurance? You hit my car!’ Barkis barks in the clip, which was shared by user @sam.anthabong who was unaware of Barkis’ identity at the time.
The woman is seen yelling at the driver on the side of a highway, next to a gray SUV and a white minivan – the latter apparently belonging to Barkis, and parked out front.
“You hit my car!” Barkis continues to yell and becomes increasingly confrontational. ‘Where’s your insurance? Where’s your insurance?’
The woman then begins to aggressively approach the driver with her phone off, before making the racist remarks – looking increasingly unstable.
‘Do you have a driver’s license?’ she screamed. ‘Are you from America? Do you also have papers? Are you legal to be here?’
An accompanying text overlay in the clip, posted by a woman claiming to be a friend of a friend of the driver, noted how he was punched by Barkis after the racist remarks – which were also caught on film.
It shows the Asian man who appears to pull out his ID to appease Barkis – who responds by snatching it from his hand and slamming it on the pavement.
A scuffle then ensues – though the Asian driver is seen trying to dodge what appears to be an incendiary Barkis, who throws several punches.
“Go away, you sucker!” the influencer — who may be a sales manager at a San Diego 24 Hour Fitness, according to her LinkedIn — can be heard screaming in the clip.
As she screams, the unidentified driver bends over to pick up his ID – prompting Barkis to punch him several times, eventually shoving him into oncoming traffic.
The clip, recast from one of several people watching from the side, then cuts to a filmed father away from a slightly higher vantage point — one that also shows Barkis physically attacking the man as he points his camera at her.
It shows the driver being pushed onto the sidewalk while narrowly missing a passing car, while several others presumably filming the other clip watch.
At one point in the footage, the group appears to be protesting Barkis’ actions, leading the woman to attack them as well.
Images subsequently posted to social media show what are believed to be bruises on the bodies of the victims – though the legitimacy of those shots has yet to be confirmed
