Incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has given Chelsea the green light to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana this summer, according to reports.
With Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy unconvincing so far this season, the change on the bench is likely to bring a change between the sticks.
Pochettino agreed terms to take charge of Stamford Bridge from the start of next season and wasted no time planning the club’s transfer business.
There will undoubtedly be departures as well, with midfielder Mateo Kovacic tipped to leave.
And, as he claims Inter live, can be used in an exchange agreement for Onana. The goalkeeper is apparently a priority target for Pochettino and Kovacic’s return to the San Siro, where he pled his trade between 2013 and 2015, is a potential sweetener.
Chelsea are preparing a move for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to reports.

Mauricio Pochettino has reached an agreement to take over and is already planning transfers

Midfielder Mateo Kovacic could be used as a middleweight in a potential Onana trade
Kovacic’s contract is due to expire in 2024 and he has been linked with a move away from the capital in recent weeks, with Manchester City eyeing him.
But in Chelsea’s latest effort to secure a part trade for Onana, Kovacic has now been offered as a middleweight. The same medium adds that Mendy, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Trevoh Chalobah were also released without success.
However, Kovacic is said to be open to a return to the Serie A side.
However, there is a reluctance at Inter to part ways with Onana. In fact, the report says that the stopper is indispensable for Simone Inzaghi’s project, demonstrated by his ability to usurp the experienced Samir Handanovic to become the new number 1.
Onana has also proven crucial during the club’s run to the Champions League final.
Negotiations between Inter and Chelsea are likely to open this summer, regardless of a move to Onana, and the future of Romelu Lukaku beyond his loan is uncertain.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has been the club’s number 1 this season, but now a new stopper is a priority

Edouard Mendy is expected to leave this summer and Tottenham are said to be interested in him.

Spurs captain Hugo Lloris may leave after 11 years due to poor form and expiring contract.
The striker joined the Blues for £97.5m two years ago, but after struggling to live up to expectations, he found himself on loan before the start of this season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are said to be interested in making a surprise move for Mendy as they search for a replacement for captain Hugo Lloris, who is set to go.
Lloris has spent 11 years at the club but, due to poor form and the expiration of his contract, it is rumored that he is headed for the starting gate.
As a result, Spurs can make the search for a new goalkeeper a priority this summer, with Sun informing that they have their eyes on Mendy.
