Manhunt after inmate Daniel Briffa breaks out of Langi Kal Kal Correctional Centre
A manhunt is underway in country Victoria for an escaped inmate, identifiable forhis curly brown hair and tattooed legs, who staged a mystery jail break last night.
Daniel Briffa, 50, escaped Langi Kal Kal Correctional Centre at Trawalla, 40 kilometres west of Ballarat, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Sunday night.
Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia on Monday afternoon that extensive searches are underway in Ballarat and surrounding areas.
Briffa is solidly built, approximately 170cm tall with short brown curly hair, a full beard and moustache and tattoos on his lower legs.

He was last seen wearing a forest green tracksuit but may have been able to obtain different clothes since his escape.
Police said Briffa ‘escaped the centre by unknown means’ on Sunday evening.
He is known to have frequented the Werribee, Hoppers Crossing and Tarneit areas in the past.
Briffa was serving time for drug, theft and traffic offences.
Members of the public have been warned not to approach Briffa, although he is snot believed to be dangerous.
