The Princess of Wales’s “bittersweet” feelings about motherhood are revealed in a new Mother’s Day photo, body language claims.
Earlier today, the Prince and Princess of Wales released two new images of Kate spending quality time with her children at the Sandringham estate to mark Mother’s Sunday.
In the first image, the mother of three poses in a tree in Norfolk surrounded by her three children.
Speaking to FEMAIL, body language expert Judi James said the princess’s children made it clear with their poses that they feel “protective” of their mother.
Analyzing the poignant photo, the expert explained: “It’s the children who have taken the most protective-looking poses.” [Kate].
The Prince and Princess of Wales released two new family photos today to mark Mother’s Day, including this image of Kate and the children posing in a tree on the Sandringham estate.
“Charlotte’s imitation of her mother’s pose suggests that she sees Kate as her role model.
“George leans in with his torso slightly in front of Kate’s, and the way he places his leg in front of her suggests a desire to protect.
Even little Louis seems to want to show how much he appreciates and protects his mother.
“Sitting with a proud smile, he has one arm stretched across Kate’s torso, his hand on her knee.”
Additionally, Judi noted that the tree the family is sitting in symbolizes “strength and continuity,” while Kate appears to be “one of the team.”
She added: ‘[Kate’s] the body language is all about integration and joining the game as one of them, rather than a parent invading their private space.
On top of this, the setting also demonstrates how Kate and William’s little family is ‘diversifying’ as their children get older.
The expert said that Kate’s true feelings about motherhood are even more apparent in the second image, which shows her cradling her youngest son.

Body language expert Judi James says Kate cradling Prince Louis in this image shows she had “bittersweet” feelings about him growing up.
As she smiles at him, Louis is seen adorably holding his mother’s hand.
Judi explained: “This pose shows Kate back in the role of ‘mum’, cradling Louis in her arms and looking down with a warm, loving and caring smile that seems to encapsulate the emotional side of being a mother.”
However, the expert says that Kate’s body language hints at her sadness that her youngest son is getting old.
Judi continued: ‘Louis was always the child she tended to carry the most as a baby.
“While he clearly appreciates the way he is growing up to be confident, spontaneous and playful, this pose suggests there are also some bittersweet emotions about losing that constant contact between mother and baby.

“If it’s going to be her last child, these feelings of sadness mixed with love might be magnified for her as well.”
The couple captioned the post: “Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours.”
The newly released images were taken on the same day as her Christmas card from last year.
For this family photo shoot, Kate and William turned to their favorite and most trusted photographer, Matt Porteous.
The environmental photographer previously captured the image they used for their 2021 Christmas card, as well as Prince George’s third birthday portraits.
The Prince and Princess of Wales post has already amassed 90,000 likes and fans were quick to admire the sweet images.
One replied: ‘Happy Mother’s Day Princess of Wales and to all the Mothers celebrating today. Beautiful pictures!’
