Josh Duggar’s 12-year prison sentence for child pornography conviction extended by almost two months

Former reality TV star Josh Duggar has had his 12 1/2-year prison sentence extended by nearly two months while he is in solitary confinement for possessing an illegal cell phone.

Duggar, 34, was arrested in April 2021 after a Little Rock police detective found images of child abuse that had been shared by a computer traced to the ’19 Kids and Counting’ personality.

Investigators claim the footage was downloaded in 2019 to a computer at a Duggar-owned car dealership, prompting federal agents to search Wholesale Motorcars in November 2019.

Duggar pleaded not guilty to one count of receiving and one count of possession of child pornography, and a jury found him guilty of the charges at his trial in December 2021. He was initially scheduled to be released on August 12, 2032.

Twice in the past week, however, that sentence has been extended, first by 10 days to Aug. 22, 2032, and then by more than another six weeks to Oct. 2, 2023, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

‘It’s kind of a dice game about whatever they’re going to say is out of politics today. A guard told me that he had too many pins in his hair to get in or that my mask was the wrong color,” the source said.

“The prison has pretty strong politics, which means there are gangs in it. Fortunately, it is not as violent as a medium security installation. It’s actually not a very violent facility.

“But it’s just a dangerous situation, given the level of neglect and I know my family member has been concerned about him, I guess I’d say he’s always concerned about his well-being, even if he feels physically safe.”
