Lindsey Mukaddam, 37, from Austin, Texas, has revealed her easy hack that will help save you time when trying to leave the airport
She known for sharing her vacation adventures on social media, where she boasts over 125,000 followers, as well as her blog
She captioned the viral clip, which has amassed over 1.1 million views, ‘I may look like crud after a 20-plus-hour travel day but at least I don’t have to wait a moment longer to get home.’
‘Here is my airport secret,’ she said at the beginning of the clip.
Then, Lindsey explained the hack that sees her heading to the departures area when the arrivals section is full which helps her speed out of the airport and gets her home faster.
She said: ‘Come to the departures level if the arrival level is completely slammed with cars because then the person who’s picking you up can get up here with no issues. And they don’t have to wait in line.’
Speaking to Newsweek, the travel pro revealed how she found out about the trick.
‘I found out about this hack because the Austin airport actually has signs during busy travel times encouraging travelers to use both levels for pickups and drop-offs.
‘Not everyone pays attention to this, but those who do listen to this advice have a shorter wait time.’
Lindsey noted that you won’t be able to do this at all airports because some don’t have separate sections.

She told the outlet: ‘Some days both levels are slammed, and unfortunately this trick won’t work then.
‘And obviously, if there are any rules or laws at your airport saying to not use this hack, don’t break those.’
The frequent flyer also told Newsweek: ‘If you don’t have Global Entry [a US Customs and Border Protection program], which I highly recommend and you can get for free as a benefit of many travel credit cards, download the Mobile Passport Control app to expedite your entry through US customs.
‘Not all airports support this, but the ones that do make it so much easier and faster to skip those long customs lines.’
