Chris Sutton believes Manchester City will top Arsenal when the top two clubs in the Premier League meet in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.
It will be the teams’ first meeting this season with their original league matchup rescheduled.
Both are likely to rotate to some extent and there is no debate that City have more of in terms of debate.
Chris Sutton believes Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City (L) will beat Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal on Friday
That and home court advantage tilt the odds in their favor and Sportsmail columnist Sutton sees that they are going the way of Pep Guardiola’s men.
“This is a brilliant draw to start the fourth round and it will be interesting to see how both managers approach it, because they will meet again in the Premier League in mid-February,” Sutton told BBC Sport.
“City boss Pep Guardiola always selects strong teams in domestic cups, but we don’t know how great Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be given his team’s position at the top of the table.
“The FA Cup will clearly not be Arteta’s priority, but his team have a lot of momentum at the moment, while City are not yet at their best level of fluidity.”
“I’m sure it will all be smiles between the two beforehand, because Arteta was one of Guardiola’s assistants at City before taking over the Gunners’ job, but this is going to be a very close contest, which I think City will win 2 – one.’
