A two-year-old girl has died two days after being rushed to the hospital following an accident at a childcare centre.
After being rushed to the Royal Darwin Hospital on Thursday immediately after the incident, doctors were unsuccessful in saving the toddler who died on Saturday.
Investigations are now underway into what went wrong at the Humpty Doo Community and Child Care Centre, which is just outside Darwin.
St John emergency crews were the first to respond to the incident, confirming to NT News that they transported one patient who was in critical condition to hospital.
NT Police have since announced their investigation into the issue, and the Humpty Doo childcare centre has released a statement for concerned parents.
