An alleged gunman with a grenade tattooed on his face has finally been arrested by police after spending three days on the run.
Stanley Turvey was captured on Wednesday during a standoff with police where he was critically injured along Turnbull Road in Ardmona, 184kms north of Melbourne.
It is believed that Turvey was shot during the major police operation and paramedics are working on him at the scene.
The manhunt was launched after Turvey allegedly fired a gun as police attempted to arrest him at a property at Katandra West, in Victoria’s north, at midday on Monday.
Since then Turvey has allegedly been involved in a string of crimes, including armed robbery and assault.

Police arrived at a property at Katandra West, in Victoria’s north, at midday on Monday to intercept Turvey before he allegedly fired two bullets in the air and fled
Police allege Turvey approached detectives with a gun when they arrived at property in Katandra West near Shepparton, in northern Victoria, on Monday.
Officers challenged Turvey to drop his weapon but he allegedly fired a shot into the air before fleeing the property in a car.
Neighbour Dianne said Turvey was shirtless and yelling as he faced off with police.
‘All the police were crouched down with their guns pulled,’ she told 9News.
‘They kept saying to him, ‘Put your weapon down and put your hands behind your head.’
‘And then he just walked back and he said, “I’m not f***ing going back to jail again”.’
Two officers pursued Turvey but lost control of their vehicle on Creighton Road before it rolled.
The officers were taken to Goulburn Valley Health hospital with minor injuries and have since been released.
Turvey’s getaway vehicle, a white 2020 Toyota HiLux ute, was located on Fraser Street in Tatura near Shepparton in the state’s north on Tuesday afternoon.
Police believe that Turvey stole the ute before ditching it after the chase.
Turvey also stopped at a random residence in Youanmite on Tuesday where he allegedly forced a man at gunpoint to drive him to Finley in NSW.
The man was not harmed and he was released when the pair arrived at their location.
Turvey regularly boasts on social media about being part of an outlawed motorcycle gang.
In one video shared to Facebook, shows Turvey holding a dog’s leash which is tied to a collar around a man’s neck.
He is seen holding a knife in the other hand while he shouts orders at the man, who is on all fours, and threatens to cut his tongue out.
When the man does not comply with Turvey’s orders, he is seen pulling on the leash sharply.

In another video shared to Facebook, Turvey is seen threatening a man, asking him to meet him in Shepparton for a gunfight.
‘Any time you want to have a go, come to Shepparton,’ the post reads.
‘Bring whoever you like and whatever little cap gun you like because if you don’t pull the trigger and kill me, I’ll bash you to death really f—- easy.’
Turvey claimed to be part of the Finks OMCG after sharing photos of the dead bikie gang boss Brent Reker to his Facebook page in February.
‘That’s my big brother… Finks MC Australia is my club and my brother is my fam,’ Turvey wrote.
‘I’ll give my life to back up my brother and have a happy death.’
