The exhausted boy, from Shenzhen city, Guangdong province, China, said his father started the punishment when he found him playing at 1 a.m.
Rather than confiscate the phone, the father, named in local media as Mr. Huang, dragged him out of bed and forced him to play games for 17 hours.
The harrowing footage shows the pajama-clad boy being woken up to continue playing even as he falls over in his chair.
In a heartfelt note, the boy wrote: ‘Then my dad found out. So my father punished me.

He continued: ‘Well, they woke me up several times. It’s going to be all day anyway. From 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. I just played for 17 hours.
Huang only called off the punishment when his son broke down in tears and agreed to a new pact limiting his playing time.
His father filmed the lesson and shared it on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, claiming he only did it as a last resort and advised against other parents.


The boy wrote a heartfelt note detailing how he was made to play ‘until he threw up’. He also promised that he would no longer play on his phone before going to bed.
