Em Rusciano lashed out at her followers after she was forced to disable comments on her latest Instagram post defending drag queens over “crude” comments that disagreed with her.
The former radio star shared a meme on Saturday that read, “Drag is art. Towing is culture. Drag dance. Dragging is creative. Drag is comedy. Towing is not a crime’.
She added in the caption, “LEAVE DRAG ALONE. Don’t think for a second that what is currently happening to the drag community in some states in the US cannot happen here.
“Tip your queens double this weekend, I’m standing next to you all my sisters from the double stacked lash.”
Within hours, she addressed her fans on Instagram Stories, complaining that she had to remove the comment option due to “crude comments” from “people who follow me.”

“I am full, ten out of ten, gold star, drag queen ally. If you don’t know that by now, what are you doing here?’ she said in a music video.
“And that whole argument that drag isn’t for kids? First, no one said it was, second, it could be, third, it could also be just for adults,” she continued.
“There’s nuance in drag, it covers everything, that’s why it’s brilliant as an art form.”
Em continued, “Those beautiful queens should be protected children and not the other way around.

Last year, the singer announced plans to take her three-year-old son Elio to a drag queen story time event.
In an impassioned video posted to Instagram, the podcaster said it was her way of showing support for the gay community following the Colorado Springs gay nightclub shooting that left five people dead and more than 20 injured.
The 44-year-old also expressed concern that a similar incident could happen in Australia due to the recent ‘grooming’ controversy surrounding drag queen Courtney Act.

Liberal Senator Alex Antic accused the ABC of “grooming” kids by having Act read a children’s book about a girl who wears pants on Play School Story Time.
“If you think about the rhetoric going around about Courtney Act apparently ‘grooming’ kids because she read a story on Play School, it could happen here,” she warned her followers.
“And I just want to say categorically that I would be honored if a drag queen would read a book to my child, to me, to anyone.”
Em went on to say that she is an ally of the gay community and wants to show her support by taking her Elio to a storytelling event.
“I’ve been trying to research drag story time events to take Elio to because I just want to show my support and I think it’s a fantastic idea and I can’t find any,” she despaired.

‘Are they no longer on? Isn’t it happening? Will any of you be across the street when there might be another story?’ she asked.
“Drag queens are precious magical people,” she gushed. ‘They are perfect. It’s the perfect choice for reading children’s books.’
After struggling to find drag queen story events near her, Em wondered if she should try hosting one herself and asked her followers if they had a library she could use.
“I really, really want to take Elio to a drag story right now! I’m obsessed!’ she begged.
