The insider also revealed that as soon as Elton heard Dolly wanted to work with him, he jumped at the chance.
“He heard she wanted to work with him and jumped at the opportunity,” they said.
The source also added, “Elton loves collaborating and who better to do that with than a bona fide music legend?”
They are rumored to have teamed up to remix a version of Elton’s 1974 hit single, Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
Earlier, Dolly said she wanted Elton to appear on her upcoming album of rock covers.
While appearing on the BBC The Zoe Ball Breakfast ShowParton confirmed she would be doing a cover of Elton’s song and had contacted him for a duet.
“I just recorded for my rock album and I did [Elton’s] song Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me,” Parton said.
“And I sent a message asking if he would like to sing with me on it and possibly play the piano,” she added.
She also encouraged people from Elton’s inner circle to pass on a message: “So if you guys get to see him, say Dolly wants you to sing on her record!”
“So anyway — but I love him — just tell him to enjoy it because it was a lot of fun for me,” she said.
In an interview with USA today, she revealed that her double album will be titled ‘Rock Star’. “An ironic title,” she said, noting that the 28-song album is expected in late summer or early fall.
When asked how far along she was with the album at the time of the article’s publication in January, she said it’s one not to be missed full of musical icons.
