Pierce Brosnan’s date night with his wife at a swanky London restaurant was ruined last night by climate activists protesting animal husbandry and fishing.

Fifteen protesters from Animal Rebellion, a spin-off of activist group Extinction Rebellion, took part in the demonstration outside Scott’s seafood restaurant in Mayfair.

They sat down at tables reserved for diners just before 7 p.m. with homemade menus explaining the benefits of a plant-based diet.

James Bond star Brosnan, 69, and his journalist partner Keely Shae Smith, 59, were among the diners at Scott’s, known for its oysters and champagne, charging £110 for a platter of shellfish.

A video released by the campaigners shows the actor being addressed during his meal, with the iconic Bond theme music over the top.

Police officers were present as protesters were carried out of the restaurant by their arms and legs.

Louisa Hillwood, 28, an elementary school teacher among those taking action, said: ‘We are peacefully occupying tables at Scott’s to make a final statement that no fish is sustainable.

“These kinds of restaurants are symbols of horrific inequality, whether it’s the cost of living crisis, the climate crisis or the animal crisis.

“We know that moving to a plant-based food system would help fishing communities create sustainable jobs while providing abundant, affordable and nutritious food, not to mention the benefits of rewilding the sea.”

Brosnan’s date night could have been to celebrate the completion of shooting for his latest project The Four Letter Of Love.

He was shooting his film, based on Niall Williams’ best-selling novel, in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, with the production drawing crowds of locals.

The star shared a photo with his wife on Instagram this week, confirming, “And that’s a wrap! Mullaghderg Beach along the Wild Atlantic Way.

‘The luck of the Irish was with us when the sun shone on us during the filming of ‘The Four Letters of Love.’

“They were later removed by security.”

A spokesperson for Scott’s said: ‘All of our seafood suppliers adhere to strict government guidelines and all fish on our menu is sustainably caught.

“Our fish is only sourced from boats that are licensed to fish their quotas ethically.”
