Drunk American YouTubers are berated for sneaking into Singapore safari park

A group of drunken American YouTubers have been criticized for behaving like a pack of wild animals after sneaking into a Singapore safari park at night, petting a sleeping wallaby and trying to feed a hyena a potato chip.

The video filmed during the Mandai Night Safari by a group known as 4funguys on social media was uploaded to TikTok on October 26 and recently resurfaced on the video sharing platform.

The reckless behavior was viewed “seriously” by park management, which said on Tuesday that violations and intent to disrespect or endanger wildlife will not be tolerated.

On December 31, the park filed a report with the police asiaone. com that the matter be investigated.

The TikTok video shows the young men buying bottles of soju from a convenience store and finishing their drinks before entering the Night Safari, where they can be seen aboard a tram.

While it’s not known what time they arrived at the park, the video’s caption said one of the men, Johnny, jumped off the tram at 2am.

“Jonny just randomly got off the tram,” you hear one of the drunken YouTubers say as he stumbles through the bushes into the darkness.

The group is then seen wandering alone, jumping fences and exploring the enclosures with utter disregard for park rules.

“This animal exhibit with no cages on it,” said another YouTuber panning the camera across the park.

A sleeping wallaby is the first animal the group encounters, the person filming the moment asks ‘what are you doing’ as a member leans in to pet the sleeping marsupial.

“Oh, he’s petting him,” you hear someone else in the group say before they burst into laughter.

The video then cuts to the Hyena enclosure where the brutal group proceeds to interact with the creature.

“So that’s a hyena with no fence,” one of the YouTubers is heard to say before one of the group, named John, tries to feed him a potato chip.

‘Come here friend,’ the person called John is heard to say as he beckons over the carnivorous animal.

The final clips of the video show the group attempting to climb a small rocky wall and help each other up the precarious surface.

The short 30-second clip was slammed in the comments, some even going so far as to alert authorities.

“Hello @singapore police,” said one TikTok user.

“Loll hope sg gov doesn’t see this,” said another.

‘@singapore police @visit singapore so can ah?’ said another user.

“How did they manage to be so openly reckless? Wouldn’t someone supervise the tram rides,’ one person asked.

Mandai Wildlife Group has reassured the public that the affected animals in the video are fine and thanked people for calling the perpetrators online.

Criminal offenses carry a prison sentence of up to three months, a fine of up to $1,500, or both.
