“She and my grandmother kept me sane. And I am so thankful to both of them for their unwavering love x she is also my children’s ‘Gabba’ and they absolutely LOVE her ❤️ thank you mom.

These festive days are always a bit weird, aren’t they? Nice to celebrate/remember/love people on their allotted special days of the year (mums, dads, valentines day) but sometimes it can also feel like a huge pressure…’.

It comes after Davina – who has been open about her own addictions – revealed in January that she started doing drugs with her mother when she was just 12.

She said, “I did drugs when I was 12 with my mom, smoked weed when I was 12, I did coke twice with my mom when I was 15, coke with my sister when I was 14.” mom.

“But I’m not a victim, but I’m happy, I chose to learn after the curve balls. Small victories in my life were huge.”

Davina said she slipped into a drug addiction, which in the worst cases led to her hospitalization.

She said in 2020, “It was very frightening because it was a very gradual overdose. I had drunk a cocktail of drugs because I didn’t want to feel normal. I was constantly trying to escape from myself – I was like a piece of fruit rotting from the inside out.

“So then I thought, ‘Well, I’ll just take a Valium,’ and before I knew it I woke up in the hospital. At my lowest point, when I was filled with self-loathing, it was literally a case of “get clean or die.”

Davina added that it was her best friend, father, and stepmother who helped her make sense, and she enrolled in Narcotics Anonymous.

Within a year of her overdose, Davina was drug-free, and the star said she still occasionally attends meetings and therapy sessions to keep her on track.

After a rocky relationship with her mother, Davina admitted that she sought fame at a young age to fill the void left by the absence of her mother’s love.

The Big Brother host added that even after receiving 37 rejection letters from television companies, she was striving to keep working.

Davina has spoken openly about her struggle with drug addiction and in March 2018 she recalled the moment she told her three children about her past.

Speaking on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, she said: “I’ve had to be very honest about my past with the kids – especially now that they have access to the internet.

“Actually, I had to be brutally honest pretty early on when I thought other kids might talk to them about it. They grew up saying “Mommy is going to a meeting” – they just didn’t know it was a Narcotics Anonymous meeting.

“They were all very accepting. They’d say, ‘We thought it was something like that. Is that why you don’t drink?”

Since giving up drugs at age 25, Davina has also stopped smoking and drinking and has inspired others with her incredible fitness regimen.

The star has also been in a relationship with hairdresser Michael Douglas, after splitting from husband Matthew Robertson in 2017.
