Comedian London Hughes claims she was warned by her agent not to have sex with Russell Brand ‘under any circumstances’ because he was known for ‘firing or dropping’ women he had slept with as they ‘made him feel sick’

Comedian London Hughes has claimed she was warned upon signing with Russell Brand’s agent not to have sex with him ‘under any circumstances’.

Hughes claimed he was known for sleeping with women then having them fired or dropped from the agency afterwards, claiming they now ‘made him feel sick’.

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, she said: ‘I was newly signed with Russell’s agent at the height of his career, I was a HUGE fan of the man… So excited to meet him!

‘But my first day at the agency I was told unprovoked that I shouldn’t sleep with him under any circumstances as he likes to pursue women, have sex with them.’

She added: ‘But as soon as he had sex with them, they’d make him feel sick and he didn’t want to be around them anymore, so he would have them fired or dropped from the agency… it had happened several times in the past.’

Brand has been accused by multiple women of abusive and predatory behaviour, including rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, between 2006 and 2013. The allegations were exposed in a joint investigation between The Sunday Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches.

Hughes, who was 22 years old at the time, said she ‘did what I was told’ and ‘completely avoided’ Brand.

She added: ‘This is not some cheeky misunderstood man. I am not shocked by the documentary at all, I believe everything those brave women said.’

Brand, who has denied all the claims and insists any relationships were ‘consensual’, was dropped by a charity working to end violence against women in light of the accusations published by the two media outlets.

The Metropolitan Police has said it will speak to the media outlets following their investigation into Brand’s alleged treatment of women, but added that at this time the force has ‘not received any reports in relation’ to the allegations of sexual assault detailed in the article or documentary film.

Meanwhile, Brand has received support from controversial public figures, with the likes of Elon Musk, Andrew Tate and Laurence Fox all appearing to back the comedian as he claimed to be the victim of a ‘co-ordinated media attack’.

Billionaire tech mogul Musk, self-proclaimed misogynist Tate and actor-turned-political activist Fox threw their weight behind Brand, while fellow comedians such as Jo Caulfield, Sofie Hagen and Daniel Sloss appeared to turn their backs on him.

The BBC and Channel 4, both of which Brand formerly worked for, have launched probes into his behaviour following the allegations.

In a new statement, a BBC spokesman said today: ‘The documentary and associated reports contained serious allegations, spanning a number of years. Russell Brand worked on BBC radio programmes between 2006 and 2008 and we are urgently looking into the issues raised.’

Channel 4 has also said it is conducting its own internal investigation following allegations about Brand.

The statement added: ‘We will be writing to all our current suppliers reminding them of their responsibilities under our Code of Conduct, as we are committed to ensuring our industry has safe, inclusive and professional working environments.’

Two of the women in Channel 4’s Dispatches which aired on Saturday night said they felt production companies had ‘enabled’ Brand’s behaviour.
