This is the chilling moment a sexual predator, calling himself ‘The Beast,’ went on the run after attempting to sexually assault a woman and suffocating her on a gown string while at school.
The masked Benjamin Creek, 31, was “prowling the streets, sexually aroused and looking for someone to rape” just an hour after committing another sex offence, a court heard.
He pounced on the woman, who cannot be identified, after she dropped her son off at school in Leeds, West Yorkshire, on May 5 last year.
Creek then used a robe cord as a makeshift noose that he wrapped around her neck, before dragging her to a secluded spot around 9:15 a.m.
He restrained her and attempted to sexually assault her, leaving her in fear for her life, Leeds Crown Court heard.

It was only when the woman screamed and alerted a passing bicyclist that Creek gave in and fled.
Footage released by police after she was jailed shows Creek fleeing the area.
He is seen in the distance, wearing a black beanie, a black mask, and a black coat with a fur-trimmed hood.
He appeared to have taken a deliberately complicated route, police said, and more extensive work had to be done to track his movements.
But police officers investigating the attack made a breakthrough when they captured clear images of his face. After a public appeal, Creek was identified by his own boss and arrested.
Creek, who has learning difficulties, has a history of public indecency and exposure, with multiple convictions for masturbating in public, the court heard.
And just days after the attack, a young student was exposed on her way to school, police said.
He was jailed for 12 years at Leeds Crown Court on Friday.
Judge Christopher Batty said: “You were hanging around the streets, sexually aroused and looking for someone to sexually assault or rape.”
‘It was clear to her what you intended to do and she was completely helpless and beyond terrified. It is clear that if that person had not intervened, you would not have stopped.
You have a sex addiction and, combined with your difficulties and your inability to control your impulses, tells me that you are a very dangerous man.
Prosecutor Catherine Silverton said the woman was walking around with headphones on when Creek put the noose around her neck and yanked her up.
The woman thought she was going to die when he pulled harder on the rope.
She pleaded with him and screamed for help, the court heard.
The passing cyclist heard the muffled screams before Creek released him.
Police reviewed CCTV footage for a sighting of Creek, who was captured fleeing the scene.
He gave bizarre responses to police questions during the interview, even referring to himself as ‘The Beast’ and saying he was Benjamin Creek’s older brother, the court heard.
Ultimately, he was charged with attempting to strangle, asphyxiate, or strangle any other person to commit any indictable offense and sexual assault.
He has also been accused of indecent exposure since May 9, when he exposed himself to a 13-year-old schoolgirl.
There were four other masturbation incidents, including on a public bus and a bus stop, the court heard.
One such incident occurred just an hour before the woman was attacked. She admitted to all the crimes.

In mitigation, Catherine Rimmer said Creek has a “complex range of mental health disorders” including autism, learning disabilities and a personality disorder.
She said that she has very little understanding of the crimes she has committed.
Creek pleaded guilty and received a 13-year sentence, made up of seven years in prison and a five-year extended license period.
Speaking after sentencing, Detective Inspector Suzanne Hall, West Yorkshire Police, said: “This was a very sinister and disturbing incident in which a woman was brazenly attacked near a busy street as she was returning from taking her son to school during the morning rush hour. .
“It was a terrifying experience for her, and we know it has left her understandably traumatized.
“These crimes show that Creek is a dangerous sexual predator and we hope that it brings some degree of comfort to his victims and the community at large in knowing that he is now behind bars.”
“Getting dangerous criminals like Creek off the streets will always remain a key part of our work to keep women and girls safe.”
