Chris Eubank is suing a Dubai hotel over the death of his son, who went into cardiac arrest and then fell into shallow water but was not discovered until the next morning.
The boxing legend says his family will ‘fight for justice’ as they sue the management company of the Caesars Palace resort in Dubai for wrongful death.
Sebastian Eubank drowned two years ago in shallow water covered by CCTV, when he was just 29 years old. Lawyers say he could have survived if prompt attention had been given to him.
Legal documents allege that staff found his identification and belongings on the beach and then went home without looking for him.
Eubank, 56, said Mirror: ‘This is our chance for truth and justice. We will fight until we have that for Sebastian’s memory.
“All we’ve wanted since Sebastian died is to understand why it happened, and we’re getting close.”

Legal documents allege that Caesars Palace Dubai resort staff found his identification and belongings on the beach and then went home without looking for him.

Sebastian’s grief-stricken widow, Salma Abdelati (pictured with Sebastian left and right) described how she “died after having one of her favorite meals with one of her closest friends.”
Documents filed on Friday allege: “Lifeguards were not paying attention and/or were fatigued and/or had not received sufficient training to protect guests,” The Mirror reported.
In a tribute to her husband, Salma Abdelati described how the boxer “died after having one of his favorite meals with one of his closest friends” and said “there was evidence of a pre-existing heart condition that we were all unaware of.”
Sebastian, the third of Eubank’s five children, was just a week shy of his 30th birthday. He was a boxer like his father, fighting light heavyweight bouts and also making his MMA debut in 2020.
The father of one was found dead on a UAE beach where he lived with his wife Salma and son Raheem.
He went by the name Alka Lion and fought in two professional fights, winning both.
Speaking to The Mirror, Chris Eubank said: ‘The case is an opportunity for us to fight on Sebastian’s behalf so that the truth comes out.
“And if a court finds that his death could have been prevented, it’s an opportunity for someone to take responsibility and for us to get justice.”
The case is constantly on my mind. We can’t bring Sebastian back, but we can do this for him. I’m sure Caesars will do the right thing.

Father Chris Snr said Sebastian was a “deep thinker” who was interested in alternative therapies and leading a healthy lifestyle.

According to court documents, Sebastián arrived on July 7, 2021 and headed to a private beach area around 6:30 p.m.
Half an hour later, he remained near the shore “in the water less than waist high” for a few minutes “before collapsing into the water and lying there, motionless.”
An autopsy found that Sebastian suffered a cardiac event related to an unknown pre-existing condition and later drowned.
Sebastian is survived by brothers Nathaniel, Joseph and Chris Jnr, also a boxer, sister Emily, and mother Karron Meadows.
Legal documents state that the beach was monitored by CCTV and that conditions were good for staff to view the area.
It is alleged that it was not until around 6 a.m. the following morning “that a lifeguard noticed Sebastian’s body floating within the enclosed beach area.”
The documents conclude with: ‘If proper and reasonable care had been taken, Sebastian would not have drowned and died at Caesars Dubai.
“As a direct and proximate result of Caesars’ neglect, Salma has lost and is deprived of love, companionship, partnership, affection, emotional support and care, intimate relationships and the ability to have children and comfort from her husband”.
Caesars Entertainment has been contacted for comment.
