- United had more chances to settle the game but were unable to increase their tally
- They now need just one win in their last two games to seal a top-four finish.
Manchester United took a giant step towards a top four finish by beating Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
United started brilliantly and took the lead on nine minutes when Casemiro brilliantly adjusted his body to acrobatically volley a Christian Eriksen pass. However, Bournemouth still posed a threat, with Dominic Solanke forcing a hard stop from David de Gea.
The visitors controlled most of the second half but were unable to end the game, and were beholden to their goalkeeper late on when De Gea made a crucial one-on-one save to bar substitute Kieffer Moore.
