A heavily tattooed biker associate has been killed in a daring daylight execution in a shootout believed to be linked to outlaw biker gang wars with the killer still at large.

Western Australian police were called to a garage in the Perth suburb of Gnangara shortly after 4pm on Thursday to report that a 34-year-old man had been shot in the stomach and chest.

The man has since been identified as Joe Versace, with tributes for the Perth venue on Facebook.

“I am at a loss for words… I have had goosebumps since my last call… I can’t believe it,” one friend wrote.

‘Joe Versace, my heart goes out to you and your beautiful mother and family, an amazing daughter. I love you Jojo, I’m so sorry.

When another friend asked what happened, the woman who posted the original tribute wrote: “Joey was shot and died.”

Paramedics attempted first aid after finding Versace ‘lying on the ground’ but were unable to save him, police said.

Photos from various Versace social media accounts showed the heavily tattooed man exercising, walking his dogs and apparently urinating in a police vehicle.

He also posted photos with a girl believed to be his daughter and another stock image of a gold Versace chain.

Detective Sergeant Major Keith Neubronner said police did not believe there was a risk to the public but urged locals to remain “vigilant”.

“We don’t believe the shooter poses a threat to the community … because at this point we believe the shooting was targeted,” he told reporters at the scene.

‘We are still gathering information and intelligence regarding the identity of the person or persons involved.

We know who the victim is, but we’re trying to determine his connections to other people.

“We ask the community to be vigilant and be aware of what exactly is going on, and if you need to report something, please report it to Crime Stoppers.”

It has been nearly two years since leading rebel member Nick Martin and one of Raimondi’s closest friends was killed by a sniper while in Perth.

Martin, the long-term chairman of the rebels, was shot dead by a hit man while watching drag racing at the Perth Motorplex in December 2020 with his family.
