Bernie Sanders labelled a hypocrite for charging $95 a ticket to attend event promoting his new book

Bernie Sanders has been labeled a hypocrite for charging up to $95 in tickets to an event promoting his new book on capitalism.

The 81-year-old senator is preparing to present his latest book It’s Okay To Be Angry About Capitalism on Feb. 21, which costs $28.

Like many authors, the Democratic Socialist is hosting a post-release event at the Anthem in Washington DC on March 1, with tickets ranging from $35 to $95. Tickets $55 and up come with a copy of the book.

His critics have accused the Vermont leader of charging any amount for the capitalism event, in addition to selling the tickets on Ticketmaster, despite Congressional criticism of the monopoly last week.

“He’s a walking advertisement for why the left is full of bullshit. This is ridiculous,’ Fox newssaid Dana Perino on The Five.

Co-host Judge Jeanine Pirro called the move “hypocrisy,” forcing his fans to “work all day to pay to see him deliver his speech.”

“Why bother paying that $95?” she wondered. “You can watch them for free all day on C-Span.”

Greg Gutfeld also berated the Senator for charging something since Sanders promotes socialism.

“The ticket should be free or at least force the audience to pay for the other half’s tickets,” he joked on the show. Or maybe more than 20 percent have to pay for the remaining 80 percent, so the prices are about $500 per person and everyone else is free. Then the people who paid the $500 should be next to the eight people who didn’t pay at all.

“But what’s most disgraceful about this is that he’s partnered with Ticketmaster. This is 2023. Ticketmaster? What is that?’ he said.

On Fox News' The Five, Sanders drew heavy criticism, including one host suggesting that the tickets should be free or that 20 percent of the audience should pay a hefty fee to get 80 percent to attend for free, since the senator promotes socialism .

Sanders wasn’t just criticized by Fox News. Colleagues and Twitter users did not pass up the opportunity to also invite the senator.

Michigan State Representative Bill Huizenga wrote on Twitter, “Does anyone else see the ‘irony’ in Bernie Sanders selling tickets for his ‘It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism’ book tour on Ticketmaster?”

Pastor Alan P. wrote, “@BernieSanders hates capitalism, but sells tickets for his book tour on Ticketmaster. Why doesn’t he make his book tour free? You know he wants to free otherwise.’

Another Twitter user wrote, “Bernie Sanders is selling tickets for his book tour. His book is called “It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism.” Read that as many times as you need to understand how stupid that is.’

Travis Akers wrote, “To promote his new book, It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism, Senator Bernie Sanders is selling tickets for his book tour on Ticketmaster just a week after his strong criticism of the company.”

Mike David wrote, “Bernie Sanders charges $95 per attendee for his book tour lectures on why capitalism is bad. Yes. Actually.’

Sanders has not publicly responded to the criticism.

On March 1, Sanders will join his fans to talk about the “phasing out of the super-capitalist status quo that has enriched millionaires and billionaires at the expense of the working class, and a blueprint for what transformational change would actually look like.” the event organizer said.

Tickets will be available to the general public from February 3.
