A UK man who was attacked with a sickle in Thailand died of bruises to his brainstem and spinal cord.
A British man, 49, who was fatally stabbed with a sickle by a neighbor in Thailand in a fight over music, has died of a concussion to his brain stem and spinal cord, according to the inquest.

A British man who was stabbed to death with a sickle in a grisly murder over the volume of music in Thailand has died of a concussion to his brain stem and spinal cord, according to an investigation.
Marcus Evans, 49, died of a knife wound to the back of the head after getting into an altercation with his Thai neighbor over noise, in January 2022 in the Tha Makham district of Mueang Kanchanburi.
One of Mr Evans’s friends, Shaun Dagnan, 55, from Nuneaton in Warwickshire, was also involved in the attack and suffered serious injuries.
Dagnan had flown to the Southeast Asian country to spend time with his partner.
Neighbors had said the two Britons had been eating and drinking with friends, while listening to music from a Bluetooth speaker.
Marcus Evans, 49, had reportedly been living in Thailand for five years with his partner Wassana Muanchit, 33.

Shaun Dagnan, 55, from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, was also involved in the attack and suffered serious injuries but survived.
But the 23-year-old neighbor, Prasut Thipthep, 23, got angry and attacked the men with the metal sickle, which is commonly used for harvesting.
Thai police later confirmed that he was charged with intentional homicide after he was found. hiding in a nearby house. It is said that he was “trembling and covered in blood”.
Speaking at a press conference in January, Thanayut said: “From the investigation, the defendant confessed that the cause of death stemmed from a disagreement with the deceased.
“The injured victim and the decedent drank alcohol and played loud music throughout the night until it caused dissatisfaction with the perpetrator and led him to attack the men.”
An inquest at Somerset Coroner’s Court heard that Mr Evans died of a concussion to the brainstem and spinal cord.
Assistant coroner Stephen Covell recorded a finding of wrongful homicide for the engineer from Berrow, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.

The attack took place in front of a rented room in Kanchanaburi, in central Thailand.

Muanchit, a mother of one, returned home to Kanchanaburi, 90 miles from Bangkok, when a neighbor told her to “watch your husband” in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It said that Mr. Evans was pronounced dead at 02:51 a.m. on January 22, 2022, on Mae Nam Khwae Road, as a result of a ‘knife wound to the back of the neck, inflicted by a neighbor who had been angered by the noise created by the deceased and a friend during a late night’.
The victim’s girlfriend, Wassana Muanchit, 33, who refers to herself as the wife of Marcus Evans, 49, revealed that Thai police allowed her to speak to her partner’s killer.
She told the Sun: ‘I looked into his eyes. I was still so mad at him. I asked him “why did you kill my husband?”
‘I said I was very angry with him. I said “why couldn’t you talk or ask nicely? You could have told me or the police, but you shouldn’t have killed him.”
Mr Evans is believed to have lived in Thailand for five years with Ms Muanchit.
